PROPOSED TOUR ITINERARY FOR SIX DAY

DAY ONE IN THE MORNING: at 8:00am leave for tour of Angkor Wat.

Angkor Wat is one of seven wonder of the world, built in early 12th century and dedicated to Hindu gods. Angkor Wat is one of the best in the Angkor Archaeological Park, from Angkor Wat-said to be the world’s single largest, religious monument-to the jungle –entwined Ta Prohm made famous in Angelina Jolie’s Tomb Raider movie, and some smaller, seldom-visited gems…..

An early start should allow us to see Angkor wat undisturbed by too many visitors; we enter the temple by the quieter eastern causeway. Angkor Wat is busy at any time of day, but early morning is the quietest time for us to explore and admire this architectural wonder and the world –class- bas-relief. The bas relief that feature the Hindu myths and real history of Suryavarman II are the main feature of the morning’s visit.

IN THE AFTERNOON:

transfer to the archaeological site and continue the temple tours. Just Northwest of Ta Prohm, lie the rarely visit temple of Ta Nei. There is a reasonable chance of exploring this beautiful Angkorian temple without any other people around. Return to Ta Keo Temple Mountain, where a climb to the top is rewarded by an expensive view over the surrounding forest. From here we can go to Ta Prohm where we can take a leisurely stroll thought the temple from the east or north entrance to the west entrance to meet again with our driver (1-2km). Once home to 6oo exquisite dancers, Ta Prohm is a wondrous site, with giant fig kapok trees straight the ancient stonework in a photogenic interplay of man and nature.

DAY TWO: IN THE MORNING at 08:00AM

We travel to the Victory Gate of Angkor Thom. Walk along the 8m-high laterite wall (500m) of the ancient city to the relatively unvisited and magical East Gate. The crematoria built against the outside of the city wall    are best seen from up on the wall and give rise to the popular name “Gate of Death” Switching our attention to temples that pre-date the city, we walk past the monumental Baphoun temple and Phimeanakas, with its beautiful lakes, continuing through the shaded parkland behind the Terrace of the Elephants. We move to Bayon, Jayavarman’s sate temple at the centre of the city. We start exploring the lower levels which bas-relief carvings and gradually make our way to the inner walls where unfinished carving were later completed during the reign of King Jayavarman VII.

IN THE AFTERNOON at 14:00PM

Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. Depending on the flood level of the Mekong the lake fill from or empties into the river for 6 months at a time. Beating to this seasonally rhythm the lake increase in area five-fold from 2,500km2 ( 1,000 square miles ) to over 13,000km2 ( 5,000 square miles).
This pumping of water in and out of this heart of Cambodia maintains a rich level of nutrients enabling the lake to rank among the world richest fishing grounds. The trip to Tonle Sap is to learn about the lifestyle of people living on the water.
After breakfast or lunch, drive down to the floating village – Chong Khneas, 15 kilometers from Siem Reap town in the south. After arrival to the pier, take a boat and go through the Chong Khneas village for sightseeing, at this village not only the fish men’s huts are floating even the school and Catholic Church are also afloat, they built on pontoons, boats and bundle of bamboo. They move their residences several times a year follow the margin of the water up or down, Apart from fishing for making a living, boat people farm fish underneath their huts, pigs, chickens and ducks in cages and the crocs.
The tour to Chong Khneas floating village is something quite different from the temple tour, I am sure you will enjoy it.

Get Back to town city tour round Siem Reap Shopping and dinner relaxing overnight.

You will continue your temple visit, you can cross Preah Khan from the South to East or vice versa. As you walk, be aware by the magnificent stone sculpture of giant garudas, each one grasping the tail of a naga, its traditional enemy in each hand. Preah Khan built in the 2nd century was one of Jayavarman VII’s largest project dedicate to his father. Preah Khan was much more than a temple with over 1,000 teachers it appears also to have been a Buddhist university as well as a considerable city. Preah Khan is located on the western edge of its own long Baray. the Jayatadaka, and a terraced landing stage at the end of the temple West-East access to the lake with a moat surrounding the city. The third enclosure bounded by another laterite wall is the grandest with four gopuras and located with within the enclosure is the Hall of Dancers decorated with fries of dancing Apsara. The restoration of Preah Khan is currently undertaken by the world Monuments Fund, a US base foundation.

DAY THREE: IN THE MORNING: At 08:00PM leave for tour of Banteay Srei Temple, the most exquisite temple in the Angkor

Banteay Srei-Pretty in Pink. After brekfast at the hotel we set off for our journey to Banteay Srei. Around 37km (45 minutes) from Siem Reap, Banteay Srei , finely carved in pink sandstone and decorated all over with deep and intricate carvings, is a site to be hold and a firm favorite for visitors. Unfortunately it is quite difficult to avoid the crowed at the temple but the intricate reliefs of the Hindu God Vishnu make it worthwhile. Relish the time spend here. Our route to Banteay Srei take us through pretty villages and countryside where we can stop to see local agriculture and industry. On our way back to town, visit the temple of Banteay Samre, built in a similar style to Angko Wat. We may lucky enough to enjoy

this temple in solitary splendor as the day draws to a close. Take a walk along the old causeway and be welcome by the stone and naga balustrades as the temple looms into view. If time allows, we may stop at a track that offers the most spectacular rice paddy views in siem reap, a welcome respite away from the crowds.

IN THE AFTERNOON At 14:00pm.You will continue your temple visit, you can cross Preah Khan from the South to East or vice versa. The restoration of Preah Khan is currently undertaken by the world Monuments Fund, a US base foundation.

DAY FOUR: IN THE MORNING AT 8: 30AM. Next, Visit the cooler climes of Kullen Mountain. Considered the most sacred mountain in Cambodia and extremely popular with locals over weekends and during festival days. It is here that Jayavarman II united the different regions and proclaimed independence from Java in 802 AD. It is difficult to reach the stepped temple itself as it is in a heavily land mined area of the forest on the higher area of the hills, but a short way through the forest will take us to an area with extensive river carvings. Visit massive reclining Buddha carved into stone on hill, and then while away the time with a visit to the water falls—bring a towel to enjoy a refreshing dip! Bring a picnic or discuss with the your guide options for lunch along the way. You might bring your pack lunch if you think you cannot eat at local restaurant. On our way back to town.

After Lunch visit Rolous Group (Hariharalaya) the monuments of Rolous, which served as the capital of Indravarman I ( reigned 877-889, are among the earliest large, permanent temple built by the Khmers and marks the beginning of Khmer classical art.

Preah Ko, erected by Indravarman I in the late of 9th century dedicated by the king to his ancestors in 880. Bakong the largest and the most interesting temple of Rolous Group temples, with its active Buddhist monastery just not the north of the east entrance.

Lolei, the four brick towers, a replica of the tower of Preah Ko, built on an island in the center of a large reservoir-now rice fields, by Yasovarman I, the founder to the first city at Angkor.

DAY FIVE IN THE MORNING: Visit Beng Mealea temple. We travel through villages on the outskirts of Siem Reap to the mysterious Beng Mealea , A jungle-Clad Temple temple, the blueprint for Angkor Wat. It is far enough from Siem Reap to be virtually unaffected by the growing tourist in the country. There are plenty of opportunities on the journey to stop and look around, take photographs, understand the local agriculture and sample the locally made sweet sticky rice in a bamboo. This temple is overgrown with trees and vines, and it an explorer’s dream: venture in to darkened doorways, skirt crumbling pillars and walk down the long promenades line by the Naga balustrades. The history of the temple is unknown and it can be dated only by its architectural style, identical to Angkor Wat, so scholars assumed it was built during the reign of King suryavarman II in the early 12th century. Smaller in in size than Angkor Wat, the king’s main monument, Beng Mealea nonetheless ranks among the khmer empire’s larger temples.

Koh Ker Lost Archeological Site can be found 120 kilometers northeast of Siem Reap.

The pleasant trip from Siem Reap to Koh Ker takes around two hours and passes through good roads. Along the route, you will see glimpses of cashew and banana plantations, as well as impressive rice fields and local villages.

At this location, overgrown trees tangle untrampled across thousand-year-old structures.

When you reach the top of a pyramid built in the Mayan style with seven levels, you will see a green and vivid landscape stretching out in front of you.

Why travel so far to see Koh Ker?

The mountains of Dangrek, Kulen, and Tbeng may be seen in the background of the jungle setting of Koh Ker.

Koh Ker is nearly as huge as the Angkor complex, spanning 81 square kilometers over its entirety; yet, due to its more distant location, it has suffered greater damage and pillage over the course of its history.

If you go at the right time of year, you might find the ruins hidden in the foliage and thick vegetation, but at other times of the year they might be completely visible amongst the bare trees.

Koh Ker is one of the temple locations from the Angkor period that has received the least amount of research.
Since Koh Ker has just been half excavated, there is a good chance that you will discover something that has been hidden.
Since much of the information researchers had gathered about the place during the Khmer Rouge was destroyed, the location is essentially indecipherable.

DAY SIX CONCLUSION: In The Morning after Break/fast see Angkor National Museum, And Royal Resident area, Preah Angchek Preah Ang Chom, And then lunch after city tour shopping end of service. transfer to airport say goodbye.
